Five Turns Publishing is an independent press dedicated to genre fiction published well.

We work with a small list of pen names across romance, fantasy, science fiction, thriller, contemporary, and cozy fiction. Each author writes in their own voice, in their own genre, under their own name. Five Turns is the editorial standard the books are held to.

The name

“Five turns” is a writer’s term — the rule of thumb that a good draft has been turned, revised, set aside, returned to, and re-read at least five times before the writer is willing to call it finished. The name is a promise to the reader: the book you are holding has been *turned*. The work is there.

What we publish

Genre fiction and practical nonfiction, deliberately. We publish under nine fiction pen names plus Stacey Anderson’s real-name authority brand because each audience has its own expectations—and the best way to serve those readers is to let each author brand be itself, fully, without compromise.

You can meet all ten author brands on the Authors page.

What we don’t do

We are not a vanity press. We do not solicit unsolicited submissions. We are not currently accepting outside authors.

Press, rights, and the rest

For press inquiries, foreign rights, audio rights, film and TV, library and bookseller orders, or anything else handled at the publisher level rather than the author level, please reach out through the contact page.
